The Michigan Association of Health Plans is a nonprofit corporation established to promote the interests of member health plans. The Association works closely with all levels of government to achieve fair and equitable regulatory policies and to foster growth in the managed care industry.
The Association supports the efforts of other associations, organizations, businesses and individuals to contain health care costs by promoting wellness and prescribing effective and appropriate use of health care resources.
As the voice for health plans in Michigan, the Association seeks to increase public awareness about plans’ services, aims, efficiency, operations and health care delivery benefits. The Association facilitates communication among members and with the health care industry on issues of common concern, and maintains contact with health care association in other states and nationally.
The Michigan Association of Health Plans is a member of the American Association of Health Plans (AAHP). AAHP represents over 1,000 HMOs, PPOs and other similar health plans that provide health care for more than 140 million Americans nationwide.
